The Green Gift

Research, Education and Outreach

At The Green Gift, our mission is to inspire and expand E-STEM participation by connecting research with community values. There is so much left to learn about the world around us and we need to inspire and support people passionate about making those discoveries. To kick this off, we have funded a graduate research award to help support young scientists in their journey to making powerful, innovative discoveries. We believe that innovation is essential for a sustainable future, but this innovation would not be possible without the support of our community. That is why we also aim to increase awareness about the importance of E-STEM research through community events and outreach activities. We hope that you join us on this journey to serve Huntsville and plant the seeds for a better tomorrow!

The Green Gift Award Banquet

The Green Gift is honored to host its inaugural award ceremony to celebrate the recipients of the Green Gift Graduate Research Award, an initiative designed to recognize and support outstanding graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in STEM with a focus on environmental science and natural resources. This ceremony serves as a moment of recognition for the hard work, dedication, and academic excellence of the awardees, highlighting their potential to drive positive change through research and innovation. Their accomplishments will be showcased as a testament to the power of scientific inquiry and the importance of supporting emerging leaders in STEM.

The Green Gift Graduate Research Award

The Green Gift Graduate Research Award is intended to help support graduate students pursuing an advanced degree in a STEM Field. We recognize the pressure pursuing an advanced degree can place on a student and look to alleviate some of that strain. A one-time $1000 award will be granted to 5 applicants based on the merit and impact of their research topic. This award will support the development of future scientists by lowering financial strain and encouraging high-quality contributions to their fields. Applications are now closed.

E-STEM Outreach

We participate in E-STEM outreach activities to spark curiosity in youth, because we believe wonder is where learning begins. These moments of discovery can light a lifelong passion, turning questions into dreams and dreams into futures. By showing up, we’re not just teaching—we’re inspiring young minds to imagine, explore, and believe in what’s possible. Every interaction is a chance to plant a seed of confidence and creativity that could grow into something extraordinary.
