About The Green Gift

The Green Gift, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Huntsville, Alabama, is dedicated to expanding access to Environmental STEM (E-STEM) through programs that link scientific research with community values. Our mission is to foster inclusive innovation and environmental leadership through education, outreach, and research support.

Update!

We did it! Our first year was a success.

We were able to:

  • Award $5,000 in funding for graduate students to be awarded in the Fall semester 2025,

  • Lead STEM outreach programs in partnership with with TRIO Upward Bound this past summer at Alabama A&M University,

  • Connect with community through local events and our very first ever Graduate Research Award Banquet!

Through these efforts, we will continue to build a strong foundation for sustainable development, scientific curiosity, and youth engagement across North Alabama and beyond.

  • Continue funding research awards for next year’s graduate students,

  • Expand hands-on STEM activities for 9-12 grade students (cool activities in-store),

  • Build stronger community partnerships to drive local environmental initiatives,

  • Pilot a professional development to give students pursuing STEM the tools necessary for success,

  • Increase public engagement with fun community events.
