Green Labs

Purpose

To inspire and prepare high school students in Huntsville to pursue environmental science, conservation, and technology pathways through hands-on learning, research exposure, and real-world environmental problem-solving.

Outcomes

Students will:

  • Build foundational skills in environmental science, ecology, and sustainability

  • Gain hands-on experience with STEM tools and experiments

  • Connect environmental science to real issues in Huntsville/Alabama (water, urban forests, climate, food systems)

  • Explore STEM careers, college pathways, and research opportunities

  • Strengthen teamwork, communication, and leadership skills

  • Participate in service learning and community-impact projects

Target Audience

  • 9–12th grade students in Huntsville & North Alabama

  • Priority outreach to under-served youth, Title I schools, & first-generation STEM students
